BE Team Tack

Blue RibbonWe request you support those who support us, and visit the shops listed below.  Also, they have a great working relationship with us and will go out of their way to see that you come back!  We are valued customers of the local shops, and with a program our size they like to keep us happy :)

Most important for the new rider are, in order:

  1. A safety approved helmet
  2. Boots (Paddock boots are best to start)
  3. Leggings (they go with the paddock boots, but aren't critical)**
  4. Breeches or Jodphurs**

**note that for younger riders Paddock boots and jodphurs are fine without the leggings, however if you find your rider is getting her/his calf pinched by the stirrup leather, leggings will relieve this.

Also must have's:

  • a crop
  • short spurs (nubs they call them) don't need these for a few months. Riders have to "earn their spurs" first!
  • Gloves (for tender little hands, or good grip for the more experienced/older rider)
  • horse treats (any type will do) ...the horses asked me to be sure to mention this

BE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME IN/ON EVERYTHING! If I find something out with a name on it, it goes in my office for you. If I find something WITHOUT a name, it's MINE MINE MINE!

Kinda crazy and hard to navigate, and murder to find the first time, but some good buys can be had. HUGE store. Loads of western giftie stuff.

Mary's San Juan, at Rancho Sierra Vista Stables

(949) 248-8415

Managed by and old favorite BRIDGES Team mate, Mary's San Juan is a satellite store off their HUGE store in Del Mar. Call first to see if they have what you want, and they'll get it if they don't. This is a small compact store in the stable two doors down from Sycamore.
