Apprentice and Working Student Programs

Every so often at Bridges Equestrian, we identify up and coming students who we think have great potential both as riders and horsemen. We have two programs for our younger riders. The first is an Apprentice program, where select students are invited to join us 1 or 2 afternoons a week (or weekend day) to assist in the yard and help get horses and other students up and ready for lessons. By working with all the horses, tack and varying riders, these students are able to get hands on experience they wouldn't be able to get within the confines of their weekly lesson(s). We see apprentices make significant strides in their confidence and ability as horsemen and riders.

When we feel an apprentice is ready for more, we invite them to become Working Students. Working Students act as Assistant Yard Managers and gain the added benefit of being able to school some of our great Bridges Equestrian horses.

We see both of these programs as great learning experiences for our riders. They get hands on experience from handling, grooming and tacking, lunging, schooling and care for a variety of horses. There is no additional charge for these programs, however students must be currently enrolled in the Bridges Equestrian program.
